  1. Benjamin D'Urban

    Major-General Sir Benjamin d'Urban (1777- 25 May, 1849) was a British general and colonial administrator, who is best known for his frontier policy when he was the Governor in the Cape Colony (now in South Africa). d'Urban was born in Halesworth, and joined the British Army in 1793, enlisting as a cornet in the Queen's Bays at the age of sixteen.

    Andries Wilhelmus Jacobus Pretorius (November 27, 1798 - 23 July 1853) was a leader of the Boers who was instrumental in the creation of the Transvaal Republic, as well as the earlier but short-lived Natalia Republic in present-day South Africa. He began his Australia career as a centre, but now mainly plays wing. He spent his entire childhood in Durban and played most of his rugby as a South African junior, representing South African Schools and even captaining the under-21 national team to victory in the 2002 U21 Rugby World Cup.

    Andre Snyman (born 2 February, 1974 in Newcastle, South Africa) is a South African rugby union footballer. His usual position is in the centres. Snyman has earned well over thirty Test caps for the national side, making his debut in 1996 against the All Blacks in Durban. Snyman joined English club Leeds Tykes for the 2003 season. He would later move to France, signing with USA Perpignan for the 2006-07 season.
