- Andrus Veerpalu
Andrus Veerpalu is an Estonian cross country skier who competed from 1993 to 2006. On February 17, 2006 he won his second Winter Olympics gold medal (in 15 km cross country skiing; his previous gold medal is from the Salt Lake City games), becoming the fourth Estonian to have won two Olympic gold medals (Kristjan Palusalu, Erika Salumäe and Kristina Šmigun are the first three). He is the most successful Olympic athlete from Estonia with three medals.

- Kristjan Palusalu
Kristjan Palusalu was an Estonian heavyweight wrestler and Olympic medalist. Born in Läänemaa, Estonia, Palusalu is best remembered for winning two gold medals at the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin. He was given the honor of carrying the Estonian flag to the Olympiastadion (Olympic Stadium). After the Soviet Union occupied Estonia in 1940 and war broke out, Palusalu was sent to hard labour in 1941 to Kotlas in Russia.

Erki Nool is an Estonian decathlete and politician. He is a winner of the gold medal for Decathlon in the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney. Although Nool did not place first in any individual event, his total score was the highest. Nool won the title after the competition referee decided to over-rule a discus judge who had red-flagged his last and only valid attempt due to alleged step-out.
- Aleksander Tammert
Aleksander Tammert is an Estonian discus thrower. He competed at the 2004 Olympics and originally finished fourth, but as gold medal winner Róbert Fazekas was disqualified Tammert got the bronze medal. A month later he placed third at the World Athletics Final. 2005 was not his lucky year, placing fourth at both the World Championships and the World Athletics Final. Countryfellow Gerd Kanter won silver medals at both these events.

August ("Ago") Neo was an Estonian wrestler and Olympic athlete. Neo first competed in the Olympic Games at the 1932 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, California, USA. Neo competed at the age of 28 for Estonia in the 1936 Summer Olympics in Berlin, Germany and won the silver medal in the Freestyle Light Heavywight competition and the bronze medal in the Greco-Roman Light Heavyweight match.

Andres Tarand (born 11 January 1940 in Tallinn), is an Estonian politician and Member of the European Parliament for the Social Democratic Party, part of the Party of European Socialists. Tarand also served as the Prime Minister of Estonia from 1994 to 1995. Born in Tallinn, Tarand graduated from the University of Tartu with a degree in climatology in 1963. After receiving his first degree he continued his studies at Tartu receiving a second degree in geography in 1973.

Dmitri Sennikov (born 24 June 1976) is a Russian international football defender. He plays for the Russian Premier League team Lokomotiv Moscow. Dmitri Sennikov was born in Leningrad (now Saint Petersburg) and graduated from Zenit football school. He was not signed by any professional club and continued playing football as a hobby.
