  4. Samuel H. Shapiro

    Samuel Harvey Shapiro (April 25, 1907 - March 16, 1987) was the Governor of Illinois, serving from 1968 to 1969. He was a member of the Democratic Party. Born as Israel Shapiro in 1907 in Estonia, he emigrated to the United States at an early age. He graduated from the University of Illinois College of Law. As a lawyer, Shapiro practiced in Kankakee, Illinois. Turning to public service, he was elected state's attorney (county prosecutor) of Kankakee County.

Prior to coming to the University at Albany in 1991, Dr. Hitchcock served as vice chancellor for research, dean of the graduate college, professor of anatomy and cell biology, and professor of biological sciences at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

    Peter J. LaRue was raised on a farm in south central Ohio and received his undergraduate education at the Capital University Conservatory of Music (1979). His master's (1980) and doctoral (1986) degrees are from the University of Illinois , where he specialized in the study of instrumental music education, bands and the trombone.   25. Carole Lambert

    Carole Lambert graduated from Drury in 1973 with a BA in music, then went on to receive her MA in voice from the University of Illinois and a Masters in Mass Communications from Southern Methodist University. Lambert has anchored Oklahoma’s NewsChannel 8 at Six and Ten since 1982. She comes from a strong journalistic background that includes anchoring and reporting in Oklahoma City, Pittsburgh, Kansas and Wichita Falls, Texas.

DAAS Professor Beck, Eastern Kentucky University, holds an undergraduate degree in biology with concentrations in chemistry and geology and a graduate degree from the University of Illinois in Public Administration and Political Science. He earned 120 hours of Preventive Medicine training from the United States Army Medical School at Fort Sam Houston and their advanced certificate.

  29. Margaret C. Telfer

    Margaret C. Telfer , MD, FACP Associate Professor of Medicine Dr. Margaret Telfer has a long interest in coagulation disorders. Since 1971, she has directed a Hemophilia Care Center at Michael Reese Hospital, and in 1999 she was recruited by Rush University and Cook County Hospital to link their Hemophilia Care for adults and to join their existing Thrombosis Centers.

  30. Deirdre Collins

    Deirdre Collins was born April 13, 1963 in Independence, Missouri, the daughter of James Mark Purcell and Carolann Bingham Purcell. While still young, she moved to Peoria, Illinois. She attended Washington University in St. Louis and was graduated cum laude from Bradley University in Peoria. She taught mathematics at Mt. Carmel High School and at Francis Parker High School, both in Chicago, before attending graduate school.

  37. Gail Blom

    Gail has taught as an adjunct instructor in the OT program at TWU, and she is a former member of the Texas Board of OT Examiners, appointed by then-governor George W. Bush. Gail teaches hand therapy continuing education courses both regionally and nationally, and she is known throughout Texas as a mentor to other hand therapists.

    William B. Killian 1960-1961 William B. Killian attended Oberlin College and the University of Illinois where he received his law degree in 1953. He joined Steel Hector & Davis, a prominent Florida law firm, in 1954, and served as legal assistant to Governor LeRoy Collins in 1958 and 1959. In 1960 Governor Collins appointed him chairman of the State Road Board. He returned to private practice in 1961 and is a senior partner with Steel Hector & Davis.

  40. Dr Kenneth Martin Viste Jr MD

    Kenneth M. Viste , Jr. , MD, Fund Honoring a Giant of Neurology Kenneth M.
