William Hanes (born 24th January 1974 in Kentucky, USA) is an American sledder from Kasilof, Alaska, USA. He moved to Alaska in 1993, and he began dogsledding in 1997. In 2002, he took part in the Canadian Challenge 340 and finished 19th. Two years later, he took part in the Kuskokwim 300 where he finished, 21st, and he was fifth in the Tustumena 200 in 2006. In 2004, he debuted in the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race and finished in 40th.
