    John Michael Hawthorn (April 10, 1929 - January 22, 1959) was a racing driver, born in Mexborough, Yorkshire, England, and educated at Ardingly College, West Sussex. Hawthorn made his Formula One debut at the 1952 Belgian Grand Prix, finishing an impressive 4th place. This performance is the best ever grand prix debut by any British world champion. He would later win his first Grand Prix, at only the 9th attempt, when he won the 1953 French Grand Prix at Reims.

    Alexander Travis Hawthorn (10 January, 1825 - 31 May, 1899) was a brigadier general in the Confederate States Army during the American Civil War. Alexander T. Hawthorn was born near Evergreen, Conecuh County, Alabama. He attended Evergreen Academy and Mercer University. He studied law at Yale University in 1846 and 1847. After leaving Yale, he relocated to Camden, Ouachita County, Arkansas, and opened a law practice.

    Michael Tuck (born June 24, 1953) is a former Australian rules footballer in the VFL/AFL with the Hawthorn Football Club. Debuting in 1972, Tuck was appointed captain of the Hawks in 1986. He captained them from that year until his retirement in 1991 at the age of 38. He played in a total of 7 VFL/AFL premierships, captaining Hawthorn for 4. Fittingly, his last game was in Hawthorn's premiership win in the Grand Final over West Coast.

    John Peck (born 7th August 1937 - died 1993) was an Australian rules footballer, who played in the VFL/AFL. John Peck played for Hawthorn from 1954 to 1968. He topped the leading VFL goalkicking in three successive years in 1963-65. He played in the 1961 and 1963 Grand Finals. In a famous incident in 1963, during the Victoria-South Australia match in Adelaide, John Peck felt a kick in his bottom whilst he was lying on the ground.

Kelly played domestic cricket for Victoria for 17 seasons, first appearing in the summer of 1863-64, and gained a reputation as a fine fielder. Kelly made his Test debut in the Second Test of the 1876-77 season.
