Houser was also a Superior Court judge.

  4. Ralph Houser

    Ralph Logan Houser (1914-2001) was an officer in the United States Marine Corps. He was born in Iowa in 1914 and graduated from the University of Iowa when he was 21. After his graduation he was commissioned as a Marine officer. His pre-war assignments included the command of the Marine detachment on the aircraft carrier "USS Lexington" as well as a tour at Officer Candidate School in Quantico, VA.

Houser went to college in Oxnard, California and between 1920-22 he participated in the California State Track Meets. His six wins in shot put and discuss, each time breaking a state record, made him the most successful meet participant ever.

    Hubert M. Houser is the Iowa State Senator from the 49th District. He has served in the Iowa Senate since 2002, when he filled a vacancy left by Derryl McLaren's resignation.     Michael Houser (January 6 1962 - August 10 2002) was the lead guitarist of the band Widespread Panic. Born in Boone, North Carolina, Houser became a founding member of "Widespread Panic" in 1982 while attending the University of Georgia with John Bell. His distinctive playing style was featured on the band's first seven studio albums and is responsible for the band's moniker: "an honest tune with a lingering lead".
