  1. Chip Ganassi

    Floyd "Chip" Ganassi (born May 24, 1958 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and educated at local Duquesne University) is a former American racecar driver and current racecar owner. He is currently the owner and president of Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates which operates teams on both the IndyCar and NASCAR circuit. Ganassi began his CART (Champ Car) racing career in 1981 and competed in the Indianapolis 500 five times, with a best finish of 8th in 1983.

The 2005 Indy Racing League champion and Indy 500 winner, Wheldon is nicknamed "Difficult Dan" in the IRL pit lane for his choleric temperament. He currently resides in St. Petersburg, Florida.

  3. Sam Hornish Jr.

    Sam Hornish, Jr. (born July 2, 1979 in Bryan, Ohio) is an American race car driver and Indianapolis 500 champion, currently driving in the Indy Racing League and the NASCAR Busch Series for Penske Racing. He also competes in the invitation-only International Race of Champions. He first raced in the IRL in 2000 with the PDM Racing team, with a best finish of third.

  4. Robby Gordon

    Robby Gordon (born in Bellflower, California, on January 2, 1969) is an American racing driver who currently competes in the NASCAR Nextel Cup Series, owning his #7 Ford Fusion, sponsored by Jim Beam, and also owning his #55 Verizon Wireless/Motorola ride which competes part-time in the Busch Series, although he has also raced in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, Champ Car, the IRL, Trans-Am, IMSA, IROC and Dakar Rally.

  5. Buddy Rice

    Buddy Rice (born January 31, 1976 in Phoenix, Arizona) is an auto racing driver best known for winning the 2004 Indianapolis 500 as part of Rahal Letterman Racing.

  6. Bruno Junqueira

    Bruno Junqueira (born November 4, 1976) is a Brazilian racecar driver and veteran of the Champ Car World Series. Junqueira started racing go-karts in Brazil and dominated Formula Three Sudamericana before moving to Formula 3000. He tested for the Williams Formula 1 team for many years, and came close to landing a race drive in 2000, losing out to Jenson Button. He rebounded from this setback, winning that year's International Formula 3000 Championship.

  7. A. J. Foyt IV

    A.J. Foyt IV (born May 25, 1984 in Louisville, Kentucky) is an American race car driver. He is the grandson of racing legend A. J. Foyt, who guided him through much of his career.

  8. Greg Ray

    Greg Ray (born August 3, 1966 Dallas, Texas) is a former IRL IndyCar Series driver. After winning the SCCA national Formula Atlantic championship in 1993, he moved up to the CART-sanctioned Toyota Atlantic series in 1994. In 1997 he made his Indy Racing League debut driving for Thomas Knapp in an unsponsored black #97 car. He made his mark on the series a year later during qualifying for the Indianapolis 500.

  9. Sam Schmidt

    Sam Schmidt (born August 15, 1964 in Lincoln, Nebraska) is a former Indy Racing League driver and current IRL and Indy Pro Series team owner. After graduating from Pepperdine University, he became a successful businessman, eventually purchasing his father's parts company in 1989 at the age of 25. He raced at a competitive amateur level, supported by his business income, but dreamed of someday driving in the Indianapolis 500.

  11. Roger Yasukawa

    Roger Yasukawa is an Japanese-American auto racing driver born October 10, 1977 in Los Angeles, California. Starting out in go-karts in Southern California, winning the California State Championship in 1991 in Junior Sportsman. He then moved to Italy to compete in JICA. He moved to car racing in 1997 in the Formula Vauxhall Junior Championship in England, before winning the West Coast Skip Barber Formula Dodge 2-Liter Championship in 1998.

  12. Larry Foyt

    Larry Foyt is a former NASCAR driver and IRL driver. He is the grandson and adopted son of A. J. Foyt, and the older brother of A. J. Foyt IV. He also drove in the 2004, 2005, and the 2006 Indianapolis 500 for A. J. Foyt Enterprises. Foyt began racing in 1993 in the go-kart ranks, and won his first race two years later. He would win the state championship in his first year in 125cc competition one year later. In 1997, he began running USAC's Formula 2000 series.

  13. Scott Goodyear

    Scott Goodyear (b. December 20 1959 in Toronto, Ontario) is a former race car driver from Newmarket, Ontario, Canada. Goodyear ran the IRL and Champ Car series during his career from 1987, winning the Michigan 500 in 1992 and 1994. He is also notable for almost winning the Indianapolis 500 on three different occasions. Goodyear qualified for eleven straight Indianapolis 500 races from 1990 to 2000. After starting last (33rd) in the 1992 race he finished 2nd to Al Unser Jr.

  14. Jaques Lazier

    Jaques Lazier is an Indy Racing League driver born January 25, 1971 in Denver, Colorado and is the younger brother of 1996 Indianapolis 500 champion Buddy Lazier and son of former Indy racer Bob Lazier. The younger Lazier ran in U.S. Formula Ford competition from 1989 to 1997, and made his IRL debut in 1999. He was unsuccessful his first couple starts, failing to qualify for races at both the Phoenix International Raceway and at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

  15. Aaron Fike

    Aaron Fike (born November 24, 1982) is a NASCAR driver from Galesburg, Illinois. He is the driver of the #1 Toyota Tundra Craftsman Truck Series truck and the younger brother of former NASCAR driver A. J. Fike. Fike began racing in 2001 in the USAC Silver Crown Series. He became the youngest driver to win a Silver Crown race (breaking Jeff Gordon's record), and finished tenth in points, earning him the Rookie of the Year award.

  16. Richie Hearn

    Richie Hearn is an American auto racing driver born January 4, 1971 in Glendale, California. He ran in the Toyota Atlantic championship for two seasons, winning the title in 1995. In 1996, he began driving for John Della Penna in both the IRL and Champ Car ranks. He won an IRL race at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway to cap off the year and was co-rookie of the year at the Indianapolis 500, finishing 3rd.

    Tomáš Enge is a motor racing driver from the Czech Republic, who has competed in many classes of motorsport, including three races in Formula One. He participated in the final three races of, debuting on September 16 at the Italian Grand Prix.
