  1. Guy Delisle

    Guy Delisle is a comic book author from province of Quebec, Canada. He studied animation at Sheridan College in Toronto and then worked for the animation studios CinéGroupe in Montreal. He later worked for different studios in Canada, Germany, France, China and North Korea. His experience as a supervisor of animation work of studios in Asia were recounted in two graphic novels, "Shenzhen" (2001) and "Pyongyang" (2003).

    He Qinglian is a Chinese female author and economist. She was born in Shaoyang, Hunan, China, in 1956. She studied history in Hunan Normal University from 1979 to 1983. In 1988 she got a master degree on economy at Fudan University in Shanghai, China. She worked in universities in Hunan and Guangdong for several years. Later she became a newspaper editor in Shenzhen, Guangdong. She wrote many articles and several books on Chinese society and economy.

  3. Yi Jianlian

    Yi Jianlian (pronounced: E TEE-an-LEE-an), born on October 27, 1987 (disputed, see below), in Heshan, Guangdong, China, located in Guangdong's famous Si Yi region and then raised in Shenzhen is a Chinese professional basketball player. As a power forward, Yi previously played for Guangdong Southern Tigers in the Chinese Basketball Association. He was selected by the Milwaukee Bucks of National Basketball Association as the 6th overall pick in the 2007 NBA Draft.

  4. Steve Chen

    Steve Chen (born 1944 in Taiwan) is a computer engineer and pioneer. Chen is the founder and CEO of Galactic Computing, a developer of supercomputing blade systems, based in Shenzhen, China. Chen holds a M.S. from Villanova University and a PhD from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He is best known as the principal designer of the Cray X-MP multiprocessor supercomputer. Chen left Cray Research in 1987.

    Li Wei-Feng is a Chinese footballer who has represented the Chinese national football team over 90 times. He also played in 1997 FIFA World Youth Championship.     Yu Youjun (born January, 1953) is the current governor of Shanxi province. A native of Feng County, Jiangsu, Yu has previously worked in Guangdong as district governors in the city of Guangzhou, as well as propaganda chief of the provincial propaganda department. He joined the Communist Party of China in June 1976. He came to prominence as the Mayor of Shenzhen, China's most successful Special Economic Zone, in 2000. He was then transferred to work in Hunan.
