- Erich Warsitz
Erich Warsitz 1906 - († 12 July 1983) was a German test pilot of the 1930s. He held the rank of Flight-Captain in the Luftwaffe and was the chief test pilot selected by the Heinkel firm. He is remembered as the first person to fly an aircraft under liquid-fuelled rocket power (the Heinkel He 176 on June 20 1939) and also the first to fly an aircraft under turbojet power (the Heinkel He 178 on August 27 the same year). - Kurt Schreckling
Kurt Schreckling (born 1939) is a German who pioneered home constructed turbojet engines for model aircraft. His design was constructed using hand tools, and has a wooden compressor and a bent metal gas turbine. It was fitted into a radio-controlled aircraft that flew successfully. Jet engines following his design are designated with a K, and J for Jesus Artes - his codeveloper for example 'KJ66'. See also: Scale jet engines (micro turbines) - Secondo Campini
Secondo Campini (born August 28 1904 in Bologna, died February 7 1980 in Milan) was an Italian engineer and one of the pioneers of the jet engine. In 1931 Campini wrote a proposal for the Italian Air Ministry on the value of jet propulsion and in 1932 demonstrated a jet-powered boat in Venice. With support of the Air Ministry, he began work with Italian aircraft manufacturer Caproni to develop a jet plane, the Campini Caproni CC.2, which first flew in 1940. - Robert Stanley
Test Pilot and Engineer Robert M. Stanley (1912 - 1977) became the first American to fly a jet aircraft on October 2, 1942, as a civilian test pilot for Bell Aircraft. He flew the Bell XP-59A Airacomet, which was the United States' first turbojet aircraft. The flight took place at Muroc Dry Lake, California. - Edward Constant II
Edward Constant II (born 1942/43) is a former Professor of History at Carnegie Mellon University, and convicted of of aggravated assault and attempted homocide. He earned his doctorate from Northwestern University in 1977, and since 1976 had been a member of the Carnegie Mellon history department. He was noted for his publications on the evolution and impact of technology. - Amer Kamfar
Amer Mohammed Kamfar is a licensed Saudi pilot and turbojet engineer (also referred to as Amer Taiybkamfar, but who personally preferred the name John) who was initially reported to be one of the hijackers aboard American Airlines Flight 11 as part of the September 11, 2001 attacks. Later he was described as "(his) name appeared on the list of passengers on board the United Airlines flight". - Adnan Bukhari
